Broken Sound Club

Aquatics/Bistro

DESIGN FACTS

Broken Sound Club in Boca Raton, FL has recently completed another exciting phase of their clubhouse master plan under General Manager John Crean. This phase featured the total re-design of the pool area and snack bar at the main clubhouse.

Peacock + Lewis set out to totally recreate the aquatics experience at Broken Sound Club with a design team creating a one of-a-kind solution for the membership.

Peacock + Lewis designed four separate and distinct water bodies which would create a multi-generational aquatic experience. The key concept was to increase the usable land area by capturing a portion of the site previously used as a vehicle roundabout and dry playground. Adding a retaining wall created additional space on the north side of the site to further enhance the usable area. The new pools were designed to meet the current and future needs of the families and their guests at Broken Sound with water play, grottos, waterfalls, beach entry, lap swimming, aerobics and land bridges separating the variety of bodies of water each with different temperatures.

The new Bistro Building was designed to offer members more casual dining in a relaxing poolside environment. A full service display kitchen was designed to create a full range of cuisine options. The Pool Bistro features a soaring 35' high heavy timber ceiling over a bar clad with iridescent blue tile and a unique LED illuminated glass bar top serving as the visual centerpiece of the outdoor space. Large HD TV's are mounted above the bar and in the back bar. A similar bar was designed for the diners inside the bistro back-to-back with the outdoor bar. The new bistro also features a walk up snack bar window for golfers making the turn and those waiting to dine on the pool terrace overlooking the pools.
