The Breakers Palm Beach
Walking into the Seafood Bar restaurant at The Breakers feels like entering a luxury liner or a grand yacht. Columns have porthole designs, and ceiling fixtures have cage-like frames that would fit right in on a promenade deck. The restaurant redesign by Peacock+ Lewis Architects, with designer Adam D. Tihany, uses large windows to provide sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean behind the bar. Taking spaces from a foyer and the Flagler Boardroom generated enough room for an efficient new kitchen, which takes up 40 percent of the space. Diners also can see a prominent display of fresh seafood and the chefs at work. Seating was expanded by 33 percent. One of the restaurant's signature features, an aquarium that serves as a bar top, was expanded as well.
