2014 ASID ~ Grey Oaks Country Club

    "Design Excellence Award"

The interior design was inspired by the oak canopy over the winding drive from the entry thru the golf course to the clubhouse and the beauty of natural Florida landscaping along the way. Phase I renovation to the existing locker room wing included enhancing the Locker Entry and Gallery. The Gallery was designed with high ceilings and large windows offering abundant natural light. The designers took this opportunity to introduce the "Oaks" theme into the clubhouse interior design utilizing a limed, distressed "Oak" wood plank ceiling. Lake and Golf Course views from the clubhouse provide natural vistas to enhance the experience in the Everglades Meeting Rooms, Parlor, Grille Room, Library, Men's & Women's Lockers and Card Rooms. Fabric patterns, color palettes, artwork and design styles were inspired by this natural setting. Building on the success and positive member response of Phase I, Phase II of the East Clubhouse improvement program included integration of the interior decor and theme from Phase I into dining venues and the formal dining lobby. The featured highlight of Phase II are the custom designed, laser-cut, oak panels set in relief and illuminate to replicate the oak canopy experience on the arrival drive. The oak panels flank a settee set in a painted millwork elliptical arch creating the signature element of the club. The "Oaks" theme was also carried into a private dining "Garden Room" utilizing laser cut window and transom panels in the same oak motif.
