Riviera Country Club

The existing space was designed as a casual, family friendly pool side café. The members desired a more upscale 19th hole grille atmosphere and gathering bar experience. The challenge was to achieve this desired look using interior finishes only, by not disturbing the existing interior architecture as best possible; layout/space, ceiling, millwork, windows, and doors.

The tile floor was replaced with real wood floor and plush modern plaid carpet. The poolside light blue palette was replaced with rich walnut woods, high gloss dark blues and leathers.

The existing bar was completely re-imagined to a new larger size and curved shape. The shape of the Tongue + Grove wood ceiling above follows the bar below. Accent table lamps adorn the bar top for added ambiance. Tufted leather was applied to the face of the bar along with crocodile inspired leather on the barstools. Six high back leather banquettes, floor lamps and tall trees were added to anchor the space.

A custom walnut wood panel with a wispy palm pattern greets you behind the maître d shielding those dining nearby.

Above the open kitchen, custom cabinets with accent lighting and decorative metal mesh doors display the club’s extensive liquor collection.
