VILLAGE OF GOLF, FL
Nestled comfortably in a half-hidden corner of a golf course and clubhouse site, this 11,698 square foot Boutique Private Lifestyle Center provides members with a full range of services offered by much larger facilities. Comprehensive and complete, this Lifestyle Center boasts having a Cyber Cafe, Pilates Studio, Spa Treatment Rooms, Men’s and Women’s Locker and Steam Rooms, Dispensary, Spin/Yoga Group Movement Studio, Golf Performance Training, Lap Pool, and 2 croquet courts. A multi-screen TV is used for Motivational heart rate monitoring as well as ambiance. The Private Club Fitness Facility attracts existing and new members wanting to maintain an active lifestyle within the comfort, health, and safety of their gated community.
The building has a one-story appearance from the croquet courts and is a 2-story facade on the pool side of the building. The lower level Cyber Cafe serves as a retail outlet for the spa’s lotions and potions. The Treatment Rooms and a Relaxation Lounge are separated from the hustle of the Cyber Cafe through the Locker Rooms. Treatment Rooms are quiet. The high horizon line on the wall mural and cloud ceiling creates a meditative space for therapy and healing. A sculptural connecting stair formed with glass railings, open treads and floating stepped light bars connects the lower level Cyber Cafe to the Fitness Floor above.
The neutral palette is refreshing, and materials are chosen for cleanability as well. The fitness desk millwork organizes trainers’ paperwork and clean towel dispensing and a laundry drop. There is plenty of counter space for trainers and members to collaborate and develop personal workout programming. The use of mirrors assists with fitness training, expands the feeling of the fitness floor, and reflects the panoramic window views to the golf course, pool, and croquet court. The building was sited to save a large signature Ficus tree. The presence of this tree in the yoga studio brings in nature’s soothing ambiance.
